Changes

If you haven't noticed my blog has collected dust over the last year. It's been on purpose I haven't wanted to make it official, do some sort of announcement or cause an out pouring of response that I'm just not up for but here it goes.

Chet and I separated in April. Our divorce should be final anytime now. It was a long battle. Emotions were all over the place but its the best for us and our children. I have made choices he doesn't want to live with and he has made choices I don't want to live with.

I am so thankful for my family, friends and the church who have been helping me through this. I know in my heart that it is best for us and through many months of prayer and temple visits I know I have Heavenly Fathers support in my life. Sorry to have blocked a year from sharing but to help me and the kids get through so many changes it was my choice.

I started a new blog with our new life it will have essential oil tidbits mixed with our life I hope to see you there.

Fun with Kayla

My girls were the first and only girls born after a great Porter flood of boys so when the older girls get to play with them its always fun.  Kayla and Taylor played at the family luncheon after Grandma's funeral and looking at these pictures makes me laugh so hard because this is what she does every time she passes the bathroom mirror. . .

Hogle Zoo

This past weekend we traveled down to Salt Lake for Grandma Irma's funeral and got to spend some time with family and afterwards we took a side trip to Hogle Zoo so that the kids (Chet took probably 50 phone photos so I think he enjoyed himself too) could have some fun instead of being cooped up in 'Uncle Treven's House' (Chantal's parents house but we couldn't convince them of a difference.)
 The Carousel
Owen fearing for his life that he's going to fall in with the elephants.
Which way are we smiling for the picture?
Best all 3 picture (yes still having issues with this)
He came down just to play with the girls.
Seriously, no zoom he's right there arm's reach away and what is Taylor doing taunting him. 'Rawr, Rawr hahaha mommy I said Rawr!'
And this is the very moment I win 'The Worst Mother of the Year' award and I am still laughing.  See the cute porcupines? See the girl not facing the right direction? Trying to get her to face her dad I reach out for Taylor and the jacket I am holding brushes her neck.  She starts screaming and if you don't understand Taylor talk you just think she is having a tantrum in the middle of the zoo like so many others before her, but no, she is screaming, 'It bit me, mommy it bit me!' Over and over again.  I am now holding her and escorting her out of the "Reptile House" I use that term loosely because I think there were only 20% reptiles in that building.  I wish I knew what everyone was thinking as she is screaming, "It bit me!!!' as I am laughing and saying back, "No, sweetie it didn't bite you that was just mommy."

Halloween a little late

It had been mentioned to me that I hadn't updated my blog in a while so I looked at it really quick and thought oh I didn't put the Santa pictures . . . .

Ok going back a little further I didn't add Halloween or anything else so lets get this blogging party started.

I made the girls Halloween costumes this year because I could think of spending $30 on a dress they would want to wear over and over that would last 1 wear.  So I looked on Pinterest and found a beautiful costume and the lady was selling it for $75 so I made it for $9.
